Christ Ahnsahnghong, the Savior in the Bible
June 13, 2023
Christians understand that the Bible is a necessary tool that must feature in one’s life of faith. However, do Christians understand how prominently it must feature? Is the bible just a reference book to be looked into occasionally during one’s life of faith? Is it just a book of morals or a history book? No, the bible is the only guide given to us by God to lead us to our savior. Therefore, it should be the only source we seek when trying to determine whom our savior is in this age. Lets confirm that the bible testifies about Christ Ahnsahnghong as our savior in this age.
John 5:39 “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,”
Christ taught us the purpose of the scriptures in this verse. He said they testified about Himself (i.e. the savior). This shows that the purpose of the bible is to lead us to the savior. He neither mentioned any other source nor implied that any other source could lead anyone to Him. Therefore, as Christians who seek to be able to truly know and recognize God, the only instrument we should use in our life of faith is the bible.
Especially in this age of technology, much information can be retrieved from many different sources. However, it becomes challenging to determine which sources are valid and which ones are not. Thus, when it comes to certain aspects of our lives (e.g. our physical health), it is best to refer directly to a professional (e.g. a doctor or a hospital). Shouldn’t the same principle apply to our spiritual health since the consequences would be eternal? Exactly. That is why Jesus and the Apostles always depended on the bible to testify to the savior. Let us study about this.
An example set by Jesus
Luke 24:27 “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.”
After Christs resurrection, He kept himself from being recognized by two of His disciples and questioned them on their understanding of all that had happened since the crucifixion. In speaking, the disciples revealed that they did not understand that Christ was God who came in the flesh. As a result, Jesus began to preach to them in this verse. However, what instrument did He use to explain His true identity? He used “Moses and all the Prophets”. Moses and all the Prophets wrote the Old Testament (or the known scriptures at the time of Christs’ preaching). Therefore, for Christ to say He used Moses and the Prophets shows that He used the bible to testify about Himself. As God, He had every right to simply state His true identity or show miracles to prove His true nature. Nonetheless, what example did He set for everyone? He used the bible to show that anyone who wanted to be able to recognize Him as God needed to also use the bible. This is why disciples and apostles also only used the bible to testify about Christ. Let us see.
Acts 17:2-3 “As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,” he said.”
On the Sabbath, Paul diligently testified to the true nature of Jesus so that all would have a chance to receive salvation. Despite Paul coming from a great educational background and being of great status physically, did he depend on his own ability and understanding when testifying about Christ? Never! The bible shows that he consistently only used the scriptures to testify about Christ. Lets us see another example.
Acts 8:35 “Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.”
Philip met the Ethiopian eunuch, a person of great power, and began to preach to him about Jesus with “that very passage of scripture”. What exactly is this scripture, the scripture that Philip used?
Acts 8:30 “Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.”
It was the book of Isaiah. Following the example of Christ, Philip fervently testified about Christ, only using the bible.
Why did the Jews reject Jesus?
However, did not the teachers of the law have the bible memorized thoroughly? Since the bible testified about Christ, how come they were the ones to crucify Him? There are two reasons why this happened. Without knowing these reasons, anyone in this age can make the same mistake they did and reject the savior once again in this age. However, as this is the last age, there is simply no room for error in recognizing the savior.
The first reason the teachers of the law failed to recognize Christ was because they did not know or believe the bible. The second reason was because they did not know God. Let us confirm this.
John 5:46-47 “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?””
Christ explained that if they believed what Moses wrote, they would believe that Jesus was God. Then, what did Moses write? He wrote the Pentateuch, which is the first five books of the bible. Thus Christ revealed that the reason they could not recognize Him, was because they did not actually believe the bible. They simply thought knowing the bible would grant them eternal life (c.f. John 5:39).
In this age, Christ has already come a second time in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong, yet religious leaders repeat the same mistake as the teachers of the law. Though Christ Ahnsahnghong came and showed all the prophecies He fulfilled directly from the scriptures, He was still mocked, ridiculed and rejected. Why? This is because they do not actually believe what the bible says. How can one receive salvation without believing in the only instrument that leads us to salvation? Let us confirm the second reason.
John 15:21 “They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.”
Christ explained that the disciples would be treated a certain way because of His name. What way was that?
John 15:20 “Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”
Persecution. The disciples would be persecuted for the name of Christ. However, why would they receive this treatment? Simply because they do not know the One who sent Christ. This means that they do not know God. The second reason the teachers of the law rejected Christ was because they did not know God.
Learn from the mistakes of the past
This same mistake is repeated today by pastors and religious leaders. Though they diligently talk about God, they reject God who has come to the earth a second time in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong. The unfortunate thing this that others unknowingly follow in this wrong path. However, we must not be led astray but rather understand the purpose of the bible. To recognize the true nature of Christ Ahnsahnghong, let us be the ones to study the bible prophecies and see that He is truly God. The 66 books of the bible contain many prophecies to allow us to recognize true God. Christ Ahnsahnghong is the only one who has come, fulfilling and proving that all the 66 books of the bible testify about Him.
